Volunteers

Volunteers play a vital role in shaping the experience of every player, parent and supporter at Pirates Baseball Club. As a family-focused club, we are committed to creating a fun, inclusive and rewarding environment for all – and our team officials are essential to upholding these values.

Whether you’re coaching, managing or scoring, your leadership sets the tone. Volunteers are expected to lead by example – demonstrating good sportsmanship, promoting team spirit, and encouraging respectful behaviour from players, parents and spectators alike. Positive reinforcement, support for all participants, and a calm presence in both wins and losses are key to creating a healthy playing culture.

We encourage all Volunteers to familiarise themselves with the Club’s Code of Conduct and to actively promote it through their actions. This ensures a safe, fair and enjoyable environment for everyone involved.

In addition to fostering the right environment, each role carries its own focus:

  • Coaches help develop player skills, especially in the fundamentals – fielding, throwing and batting – at younger age levels.

  • Managers support team operations and communication.

  • Scorers ensure games are recorded accurately and fairly.
