Phil Jones and Mark Scully inducted as Life Members

Earlier this year the Pirates Baseball Club Executive Committee unanimously voted to induct two of the clubs leading members to the club as Life Members for their untiring work and vision over the years to make the Pirates Baseball Club one of the most successful clubs in Australian Junior baseball. At the recent senior presentations, we were able to announce the Pirates latest Life Members.

Phil "Tooch" Jones and Mark "Skip" Scully are two members that have been instrumental in the growth of the Pirates Baseball Club and their vision has lead to many innovations for the club to benefit all our members:

  • The drafting of a 3-year, 5-year and 10-year plan to progress the club
  • The adoption two years ago of Pirates Major League as part of the plan to give our juniors a path to progress into elite baseball
  • The development of the "Try Baseball" concept that is full endorsed by Baseball NSW and is now used by many junior baseball clubs as their player recruitment tool
  • The introduction of softball to the Pirates
  • The original development of the Quakers Hill Pirates website
