2013/14 Junior Presentation Day and Notice of Annual General Meeting

Please save the date, the Pirates Junior Presentation Day is scheduled for Sunday 6th April 2014.

This is a day to recognise the achievements of our many junior players and award trophies to all teams.

When: Sunday 6th April
Where: Corbin Reserve (Diamonds 5 & 6)
Time: 10am to 2pm
(please note the time and daylight saving finishes on the 6th April so don't turn up 1 hour too early)

This presentation day also co-incides with a very important milestone of our club - it's the Quakers Hill Pirates 25th anniversary and we will be presenting a special momento to celebrate a wonderful moment in the club's history.

The presentation day also features the first round of Sydney Winter Major League and the Pirates Major League teams (1st, 2nd and 3rd grade) will be on display on the main diamond. This is very inspirational for the kids to see some of the best players in Sydney in action at our home ground. A number of Pirates Major League players have progressed from the Pirates junior ranks.

The presentation is a 4-hour event so why not pack a picnic, bring your sun shelter and chairs and make a day of it. We will have amusement rides for the kids and lots of other things happening throughout the day. The canteen will also be in operation during the day and there is also free fairy floss and snow cones during the event.

All junior players will receive their trophies and we will be handing out 5, 7, and 10 year membership caps, awarding the "club person of the year", recognising junior players who have undertaken representative duties or toured internationally plus awarding the winner of the perpetual Neil Austin Medal to the junior player that embodies the spirit of the Pirates club.

Reminder: due to council regulations, please do not bring glass bottles to Corbin Reserve.

We look forward to seeing all of the "Pirates Family" for a great day!

At the Junior Presentation Day, the Club will also hold its Annual General Meeting to elect the Executive and General Committee officials for the 2014/15 season. We are calling on any parent or member over 18 who would like to influence the future direction and success of our Club to nominate for an official's position.

For any member who wishes to nominate for a club official's position, please lodge your nomination with Club President Michael Fitzgibbon ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) before Wednesday 2nd April.

After faithful service to the Quakers Hill Pirates the following members of the Executive will be retiring and not standing for re-election:

Paul Passmore: "Pazzy" has held numerous positions over the last few year with the Executive including Secretary and the last couple of seasons as the Club Treasurer and under his astute financial management, the club has thrived and is in a very solid financial position.

Damien Clarke: "Clarkey" has served as our Vice President of Junior Baseball and has worked hard to progress the accreditation program for our coaches and worked to ensure development and progression paths for our players.

Vanessa Sakal: "Ness" has served the club as our Secretary and has been a tireless volunteer ensuring that all the "i"s are dotted and the "t"'s are crossed, working hard to diseminate information and correspondence and was also integral in organising the recent Pirates Movie Night on the Diamond.

On behalf of the Executive and the members of the Quakers Hill Pirates, I would like to sincerely thank Pazzy, Clarkey and Ness for their outstanding service to the Executive and their dedication to our membership.

And now, we are on the lookout for the next group of volunteers to help steer the club on its successful journey. The heart and soul of our club (or should we say the pride and the passion) is driven by the dedication of our committee and volunteers to provide the best facilities for your kids, to drive ongoing programs to let them develop in our sport and overall to have fun as a member of the "Pirates Family".

The Pirates is a very big boat and we are very appreciative of anyone who wants to help us steer the ship and have an impact on the future success of our club.
